JULY 22nd – GALLATIN SCARF WORKSHOP

This light and airy scarf pattern was our featured pattern for the months of May and June.  In this workshop, you will be guided through the beginnings of the pattern, discussing gauge and these different techniques: cast-on increases, yarn-overs, and decreasing.

  • Level : Advanced Beginner/Intermediate
  • Prerequisites: Students must know basic knitting skills (cast-in, knit, purl, bind-off) and have completed a simple scarf.
  • Materials:  Please bring with you 220 yards of worsted weight yarn and US10 needles. Stitch markers are optional.  We used Mana, a pure mulberry silk worsted weight yarn, available in the shop.
  • Time:  11am – 1:30pm
  • Cost: $35 a person (class minimum: 4 students)

AUGUST 6th – ESPADRILLES WORKSHOP

Espadrilles (from the Spanish word ‘Esparto’ for grass) have been worn in the Pyrenees and along the Mediterranean for centuries. Jute braids are woven together to form soles that breathe. We’ve simply updated the traditional espadrille design for the city, the beach and everywhere in between.

  • Level : Beginner
  • Prerequisites: Students must know basic crochet skills (chain, single crochet, double crochet).
  • Materials:  Please purchase a kit ($47) at Frame & Fiber prior to the workshop.
  • Time: 11am – 2:00pm
  • Cost: $60 (includes kit) per person (class minimum: 4 students)

AUGUST 13th – FINISHING WORKSHOP

Bring an FO (finished object) or two and learn different ways to weave-in those pesky ends like a pro and how to wet block a piece to bring out the magic of your work!

  • Level : Beginner to Advanced
  • Prerequisites:  Students must have a completed project to take this class.
  • Materials/Tools:  2 bath towels, T-pins, scissors, darning needle, small crochet hook (optional: blocking wires, blocking mats, sewing tape measure)
  • Time: 11am – 1:00pm
  • Cost: $25 per person (class minimum: 4 students)

AUGUST 27th – FLOWER AND EDGE WORKSHOP

Learn how to embellish and edge your basic knitted and crocheted pieces.  In this workshop, you will learn how to make a crocheted flower and how to do a crocheted edge.  You will leave with the skills to embellish all the things!!

  • Level : Easy/Beginner
  • Prerequisites:  Students must know basic crochet skills (chain, single crochet, double crochet).
  • Materials:  Please bring with you a completed 12 inch square,  made in either single crochet or garter stitch, with worsted weight wool or acrylic, and using a 5mm hook or needles.  Bring approximately 50g of a coordinating color of similar weight yarn, a 5mm crochet hook, and a darning needle.  We used Cascade 220 Superwash.
  • Time: 11am – 1:30pm
  • Cost: $35 a person (class minimum: 4 students)

SEPTEMBER 24th – OFF THE WALL HANGING CLASS

We’re having a 70’s love-in and it wouldn’t be complete without a macrame wall hanging. The Off the Wall Hanging provides a contemporary boho-inspired charm to any space.  Make it with us at our workshop, using Wool and the Gang’s Jersey Be Good yarn. This unique t-shirt yarn is made from fabric roll off-cuts from fashion factories in Turkey making the Top of the Pots truly one of a kind.

  • Level : Beginner
  • Prerequisites:  Must love 1970’s decor and can tie your shoelaces.
  • Materials:  Please purchase a kit ($25) at Frame & Fiber prior to the workshop.
  • Time: 11am – 2:00pm
  • Cost: $40 (includes kit) a person (class minimum: 4 students)
